Dignity
We centre students' ambition, agency and potential in every conversation.
Our mission
ILA Foundation advances the education of Moroccan students (and others) in particular, but not exclusively, who are studying at UK-based schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions.
Founding members
ILA was created by a group of Moroccan professionals residing in the United Kingdom whose journey began three decades ago when they met in Japan while pursuing their studies funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education (Monbusho).
Keen to give back to their community, the founders established ILA in order to make a meaningful impact in the lives of aspiring Moroccan students — and others — from disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing them the variety of support they need to learn, excel and thrive.
For many ambitious students, the path to a successful career can feel out of reach — not for lack of talent, but for lack of access to the right people, the right conversations and the right doors and limited financial resources.
ILA Foundation helps students who are facing financial hardship to access and remain in education through grants and other practical forms of support, alongside career advice, mentoring and professional connections.
What guides us
We centre students' ambition, agency and potential in every conversation.
We focus on tangible, career-building support — not just inspiration.
We build lasting bridges between students, mentors, companies and communities.
How we support
One-to-one guidance from professionals who have navigated the careers students are aiming for.
Detailed, honest feedback to help students present their experience and potential with confidence.
Realistic practice sessions that build the composure and clarity needed to perform under pressure.
Direct connections to organisations offering internships and early-career opportunities.
Sustained support for students working on specific academic or professional projects.
We welcome conversations with professionals and organisations who want to support the next generation of Moroccan students in the UK.
